I am the original owner of this 1974 dreadnaught. It is by far my most precious instrument. Its value when new was $125 (including the cardboard Epiphone case in the background). Its current monitary value is probally not very much. However, its personal value to me is beyond calculation
My two brothers and my dad chipped in to buy this for me as a present for Christmas 1974. I was 12 years old and it was my first guitar. Every ding, nick, and scratch was added by me over the course of the last 35 years.
Overall the guitar is in good shape. Besides the obvious dings and scratches, one of the top "X" braces just behind the sound hole has split. Its not anything major but I have not been playing the guitar because of this split. I leave the strings detuned to reduce the tension on the neck and top. Eventually I will get it repaired. I need to find a luthier I can trust first.
